Drysol antiperspirant is an effective topical treatment, clinically proven to treat excessive sweating, also called hyperhidrosis. It is recommended for people who sweat at rest and haven't found relief with regular deodorants or antiperspirants.
Drysol contains the active ingredient aluminum chloride hexahydrate (ACH). Other over-the-counter antiperspirants may contain this ingredient at a lower concentration, which makes Drysol prescription-only.
When antiperspirants containing ACH, such as Drysol, are applied to the surface of the skin, ACH interacts with sweat and forms a plug at the entrance of the skin pore. This acts as a barrier within the sweat duct to stop the flow of sweat to the skin's surface.
This effect is temporary and over time, the plugs naturally break down and are shed with the outer layers of skin or washed away. This is why you have to reapply antiperspirants to maintain their effect.
Your doctor may recommend Drysol for sweating as it has a 98% proven efficacy in controlling sweat and a 30% reduction in sweat volume.
To use it correctly, follow these simple instructions:
To reduce sweating effectively, you should use Drysol consistently. Your doctor will tell you how often to apply this product. Always follow the instructions provided by your healthcare provider or those included in the patient leaflet.

While Drysol can be effective for many people dealing with excessive sweating, it may not be suitable for certain groups of people.
If you are allergic to aluminum chloride hexahydrate or any other ingredients in Drysol, do not use this product. You should also avoid applying this product to open wounds, cuts, or irritated skin. Applying it to damaged areas might cause discomfort or may further irritate your skin.
Drysol may stain clothing or certain fabrics or affect metals. Use it with caution and avoid contact with clothes, bed linen, other fabrics, or metals. Let it dry completely before putting on clothing.
